Manchester Business School Incubator – New Ventures

From conception to ongoing management, Partnership WTP has been instrumental in the creation and success of this unique approach to Business Development. Bringing a powerful mix of the academic and professional, the Incubator focuses on what makes a business succeed and grow.

Partnership WTP originally proposed and established the Manchester Business School Incubator, project managing the start up, launch and promotion of this joint venture with its four major share holders: Manchester Business School (The University of Manchester), Royal Bank of Scotland, N M Rothschild, and Addleshaw Goddard.

The MBS Incubator has now been fully established and operational for two years and Partnership WTP provides the day-to-day independent management resource for the Incubator, utilising our expertise in the start-up and new enterprise arena. For our clients there are many advantages:

  • Fluctuations in workload are easily absorbed through a flexible management delivery agreement
  • No requirement for the Incubator to take on permanent staff during the early stage of its development
  • An opportunity to negotiate and review deliverables as business needs develop
  • Professional and contractual accountability and financial control

We work every day with energetic entrepreneurs and business people who seek our innovative solutions to their start-up needs. Currently the MBS Incubator supports 13 companies and start-up ventures, providing them with project resources and professional advice. Two companies who have benefited from the support of the MBS Incubator are:

186 Media Limited - three individuals using their media industry experience to build a digital media company based on producing and supplying education and training DVDs.

Martin Conquest Ltd - individuals with engineering and sports vehicle industry expertise who are creating a motorbike for the partially disabled. Finance has recently been secured to take the company into full UK production.
